What sets your foldable electric scooters apart from the other less expensive brands?

We only distribute and sell what we use ourselves.  The biggest factors that we consider in our foldable electric scooter product line are the superior batteries, engineering, design and build quality. Our foldable electric scooters are highly awarded with excellent rider reviews, worldwide.

How fast can I go?

Depending on the exact model, they are designed to travel between 25 km/h to 30 km/h.  Other factors that would determine speed are rider’s weight, gradient, terrain and wind resistance.  We recommend that riders do not go above 30 km/h for the safety and consideration of other road users.

Where can I ride them?

Different provinces and states have different laws that govern the use of personal mobility devices. Always check posted laws and obey posted street signs.  We recommend not riding on streets and sidewalks.

How long does it take to get a full charge?

Depending on the exact model, it takes between 5 – 6 hrs (from flat) to get to a full charge.

How far can I go? Does weather affect its performance?

Depending on the exact model, riding conditions and rider’s weight, this would range between 22 km – 35 km on a full charge.  Please note that batteries operate optimally in temperatures from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius.  In colder weather, it is normal for your scooter to experience a shorter than normal range on a full charge.

Can I use these foldable electric scooters in the rain?

Our foldable electric scooters are designed to withstand light wet weather conditions, but we do not recommend riding in heavy rain or any snow.  Riders are also advised to not ride them through puddles or submerge them in water.

What are some helpful maintenance tips?

Always ensure there is sufficient tire pressure before riding to avoid a flat tire.  It is recommended to maintain 40-50 psi for both front and rear tires.

For units that have rear lights, DO NOT step on the rear mudguard while riding.  The rubbing of the tires against the rear light cable (under the mudguard) will cause the rear lights to stop working.  Remember there are brakes on the handle bar.  You do not need to step on the back wheel to brake.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

We recommend that you check your local laws for bicycle helmet requirements, but we always encourage our urban riders to wear helmets when riding.  You’ll love our helmets, by the way.

How much is shipping?

Because of air transport regulations on batteries, we provide ground shipping options (foldable electric scooters) only.  We offer free shipping within Canada and to USA (excluding Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands) for all foldable electric scooter orders.  If you’re located in Vancouver, you can also purchase online and choose the pickup option at our showroom within 3-5 business days.  Applicable Customs Duty and taxes are not included in shipping.

Please note if a product is returned to our warehouse due to unsuccessful delivery attempts, the buyer is responsible for any return shipment costs, and re-delivery costs, plus an administrative fee of $30.  We will hold all returned items for one week before re-stocking them.

I’ve got a flat tire. Where can I fix it?

Chances are, you have a punctured tube. Replacing the tube on your foldable electric scooter is very much like replacing the the tube on a bicycle.  We stock bicycle tubes for all our foldable electric scooters and you purchase them online and have them shipped to you.  You can try to replace the tubes on your own, or make an appointment with our technician (standard labor rates apply).  Most bicycle stores will also be able to replace them, but they will not stock the tubes that you need, so remember to purchase them at Urban Machina first.

Is there warranty?

All foldable electric scooters sold by us and our authorized resellers come with a 1-year limited warranty on manufacturing defects and coverage on electrical parts including the battery.  Original receipt is required for warranty purposes.  The cost of shipment of parts or the entire unit to our service department will be covered by the buyer.  Our warranty does not cover malfunction due to inappropriate use, normal wear and tear or damage caused by accidents or weather.  Unfortunately, we do not service or warranty products that are not purchased on UrbanMachina.com or from our authorized resellers.

What is the refund/exchange policy?

We offer exchange only for unopened purchases that are brand new and unused (within 7 days of purchase).

Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes, we do!  We partnered with PayPal Credit to offer our customers a payment plan option.  Simply choose the PayPal Credit option when you check out with PayPal.  Please note that PayPal Credit is available to US customers only.  Click here for more information.

What are your terms and conditions for pre-orders?

As we want to offer our customers the newest and most innovative products, we accept pre-orders on all new models.  All pre-orders require a 50% deposit.  Customers have 7 days to get a full refund of the deposit.  After 7 days, the deposit is non-refundable.

Please note we have the right to cancel pre-orders that we are not able to fulfill due to unforeseeable circumstances.  In the event that we cancel a pre-order,  customers will get a full refund.
